Right outside (at the doorstep?) of Gathland SP, just up the hill from Burkittsville, MD is the Correspondents Memorial. I had thought this would be a fantastic place to shoot the Milky Way, but as you can see, there's a bit too much light. When I visited the place during the day, the idea that there might be street lights in the parking lot (to the right, but not in the photo) didn't even enter my mind. ©2020 Henry S. Winokur
