In the UK, walking is almost a national sport. This is an area in the south called the (obviously) "South Downs", where one can walk for miles. Come to a fence? Use the gate or the stile to get through or over it. it's a much nicer mindset than here in the US where every piece of land--except parks--seems to be privatized. Near Brighton, UK.

We attended a wedding in the UK near Aylesbury. We stayed at an old inn called Hartwell House. The grounds were--as the Brits would say--simply stunning.
